75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Zoom Event ~ Info Provided by Cecilia Hull

Our own Deacon Chris is one of two speakers for a program sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Office of Social Ministries.  The program commemorates the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  On August 6 and 9, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, and days later, we dropped a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki. These bombs killed roughly 200,000 people.

Church and community leaders will educate and reflect about the past, present and future of nuclear weapons and nuclear testing.

The event is free and open to all through Zoom (a free online video meeting app).
