Fr. Jim's Jots - Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time - November 8, 2020
Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
CELEBRATING BLACK CATHOLIC HISTORY MONTH
Fr. Jim's Jots
Thanks to Tinika and Igor, for their reflection last Sunday. Thanks to Adrien for his reflection this Sunday. We are truly blessed to have such a wealth of experiences and knowledge to help all our parish households learn about our different journeys of faith. Thanks to all.
We, also, are blessed to acknowledge the historic appointment of Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory, who will become the first United States African-American Cardinal-designate. Cardinal-designate Wilton D. Gregory is the Archbishop of Washington, D.C. Cardinal-designate Gregory is a native of Chicago and is 72 years old. Wilton Gregory went to Catholic schools and wanted to be a priest. He studied in Rome and was ordained a priest in Chicago in 1973
Archbishop Gregory has praised peaceful protest for racial justice, saying that the young people helping lead those marches offer hope for building a more just nation, where all lives are respected.
St. Elizabeth in Richmond, Virginia congratulates and prays for Cardinal-designate Wilton D. Gregory and wishes him all the best.
Blessings,
Fr. Jim
