Fr. Jim's Jots ~ Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
"I came to cast fire on the earth..." |
Fr. Jim's Jots
Greetings!
Mark your calendars! Next Sunday we will have a special Mass. Bishop Joseph Perry from the archdiocese of Chicago will be our celebrant. Bishop Perry will also give us an update on the progress of Augustus Tolton's journey to Sainthood.
This miraculous journey of the first black priest in the U.S., who escaped slavery as a child, has inspired a canonization effort. Pope Francis has given Augustus Tolton the status of "Venerable." We at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church welcome Bishop Perry and look forward to his talk next week.
Your help is needed! We need a driver help for a few days to drive a student to All Saints School starting Tuesday, August 20th. Please see Fr. Jim for details
Blessings,
Fr. Jim Arsenault
