Fr. Jim's Jots - 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, 9.1.2019

Fr. Jim's Jots

Greetings!

Happy Labor Day weekend!  We pause this weekend and have Monday off in honor and celebration of those who work so hard.  We pray for all those who labor in factories, offices, classrooms, hospitals and for police officers and firefighters, those in public service, waitresses, those who work in grocery stores checkout lines and our department stores, truck drivers and all who labor.  May the Lord keep you safe on your job and bless you for caring for your families.

With Labor Day, we say farewell to Summer and will be soon in the rhythm of the life of the church with all activities up and running.  We encourage you to consider joining the RCIA, if you have not yet been confirmed in the Catholic faith or if you're interested in inquiring and learning more about our church and its teachings.

We are also in need of catechists on all levels.  Please know that your contribution truly makes a difference.

Special thanks to those who worked so hard to welcome Bishop Perry from Chicago.  We are grateful to learn so much more about the road to sainthood for Fr. Augustus Tolton.

Blessings,

Fr. Jim Arsenault
