Fr. Jim's Jots - 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, September 22, 2019

Fr. Jim's Jots

Greetings!

This weekend I am away at Saint Joan of Arc parish in Yorktown, Virginia, as part of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond Mission Co-op/Appeal.  Because our parish is small, we are a Mission Parish.  I am, therefore, able to visit a parish once a year and ask for a second collection to help us with our financial needs and operating expenses.  Please pray for the success of this opportunity this weekend.

Small, but growing.  If you have not yet registered to become a member, please see the Parish Registration forms on the kiosk, in the rear of church or ask one of our Hospitality Ministers or a Parish staff member.  Please sign up and join our parish today.

Lots of weddings!  We have several weddings scheduled in the next several months at Saint Elizabeth.  If your marriage has never been blessed by the church or have had your vows received by a Catholic priest or deacon, please contact Fr. Jim or Deacon Chris.  We would be delighted to help talk to you about having your marriage become a sacrament.

I will be away the weekend of October 5 and 6, celebrating my nephew, Thomas Arsenault's wedding in Detroit.  Another special wedding that I've been asked to attend will be in Goa, India.  I will be away from November 3 thru 15, enjoying the wedding and traveling to some of the historical sites of India.

Special thanks to Liz Wiznerowicz for having our first VIRTUS training program after Mass, here at Saint Elizabeth.  All adults working with children, on any level or involvement of any kind, need to have the VIRTUS training, Protecting God's Children.  Please contact the parish office or go to the CDR website, richmonddiocese.org  Sign up today; your help is needed to protect God's children.

Blessings,

Fr. Jim Arsenault
