Fr. Jim's Jots - Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time, 9.10. 2019

Fr. Jim's Jots

Greetings!

The 11th Annual Jazz and Food Festival was a huge success, with a net profit of $36,875!  Thank you, to one and all who helped in so many countless ways!  Without such success, we would not be able to support our many growing ministries.

The school supplies that were donated to Overby-Sheppard and All Saints schools have been gathered and delivered.  Thank you again, for such a wonderful outpouring of generosity.  Deacon Chris Barrett dropped the supplies off and said both schools were more than grateful!

In an effort to take care of our Mother Earth, I am asking all committees and gatherings to revisit the use of paper, plastic and Styrofoam products.  I am asking that we truly become wise stewards of our planet and use our dishwasher, dishes, glasses, cups and flatware instead of wasting money on products that are bad for the environment.

September 19 at 6 p.m., our parish council meets.  At this meeting we will discuss the idea of adding another Mass on Sundays; the suggested time is 11:30 a.m.  If you have any thoughts or ideas, please feel free to contact the parish office, myself or any parish council member.  The Gospel Choir will continue to play and sing at the 9 a.m. Mass.  May we pray for our parish as we continue to grow.  May the Lord bless us.

Blessings,

Fr. Jim Arsenault
