Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

October 16, 2022

Fr. Jim's Jots

Greetings!

As many of you know, this month is the month of the Most Holy Rosary.  You are invited to join our daily Rosary group on Zoom at 7 p.m.  If you are interested, please see the E-Bulletin to get the link to join.

As we approach election season in our nation, let us pray for discernment as we prepare to vote in the midterm elections.

Lord God,

As the election approaches, we seek to better understand the issues and concerns that confront our city/state/country, and how the Gospel compels us to respond as faithful citizens in our community.

We ask for minds and hearts that are open to hearing the voice of leaders who will bring us closer to your Kingdom.  We pray for discernment so that we may choose leaders who hear your Word, live your love, and keep in the ways of your truth.

We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen *

Enjoy the beautiful Fall colors.

Blessings,

Fr. Jim

Fr. Jim's Jots

Greetings!

Welcome to the month of the Most Holy Rosary.  You are invited to join our daily Rosary group on Zoom at 7 p.m.  Please see the E-Bulletin to get the link to join.  What a wonderful way to make new friends and join this rosary group in the month of October.

We are excited about our parish Centennial.  The kickoff Mass for the centennial year is Sunday, November 20th, with ONE Mass at 9 a.m.  Please mark your calendars.  Also, the special centennial Christmas ornaments are beautiful.  They have the logo of the centennial carved in beautiful olive wood and are going fast.  They are a great gift for Christmas and are on sale in the back of church after the Masses for $5.00 each!

We welcome two new members to our Parish Council.  They are Nene Kizenge and Pierre Kayumba.  We are delighted to have you join our Parish Council.  Welcome!!  Also, once again the parish council is dividing up the names and contact info of all parishioners.  Everyone who is registered will have a new Parish council member to be your contact representative.

Enjoy the beautiful Fall colors,

+ Fr. Jim Arsenault, Pastor

Fr. Jim's Jots - Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time - October 2, 2022

 Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

October 2, 2022

Fr. Jim's Jots

Please pray for all who have been affected by Hurricane "Ian".  What a terrible event.  I am sure that in the near future Catholic Relief Services will be asking for a special collection but in the meantime, pray.

I will be leaving for Scottsdale, Arizona this Sunday to celebrate the Funeral Mass of my Godfather, Dick Gee.  The Mass is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3rd at 11:00.  Please pray that bad weather does not prohibit my trip.  I will be returning on Tuesday, Oct. 4th.

My next trip is to New Orleans to celebrate the marriage of my cousin Michelle Ann Arsenault.  Michelle and her fiance',Travis, are both finishing medical school, now doing their residency.

Michelle's father, Michael Arsenault and I were very good friends, attending the same grade and high schools.  Mike went off to also be a doctor and I to the seminary.  A few years ago, Mike died from cancer.,  I am so pleased to be able to celebrate a happy event and witness Michelle's wedding.

Again, special thanks for all who are working so very hard for our parish centennial.  Please see the update in today's bulletin about the former St. Elizabeth/Convent site development. The project is sponsored by Catholic Charities.

+ Fr. Jim, Pastor
