You have read about RISC and the important work this faith-based group does to advance social justice in the region.  You have the opportunity to MAKE GOOD TROUBLE and join RISC for the new year.

You start by attending a house meeting.  This year, you can zoom into a house meeting from the comfort of your own home.

St. Elizabeth parishioners are hosting virtual house meetings on September 26, 27, or 30th.

Tonight's the Night!!! ~ RISC Meeting with Mayor and City Council, Monday, August 31, 6:30 p.m.

We've worked this summer to be ready for Monday, August 31, for a Zoom meeting with the mayor and members of city council on the issues of eviction prevention, affordable housing, and gun violence.  

St. Elizabeth parishioners are invited to join the meeting to be a voice for the poor and those most at risk to gun-violence on Monday, August 31st at 6:30 p.m., by using the link provided.

Parishioners and Friends of St. Elizabeth, a congregational member of RISC, are invited to virtually attend a meeting this Monday, July 27, at 12:15 p.m., via Zoom. 

This is a meeting at which the leaders of the National Network for Safe Communities will be orienting the mayor and the police chief to the Group Violence Intervention principles and program that RISC has proposed to the City of Richmond.

RISC Call-to-Action in April

To make sure that funding is in the Richmond City budget to address the lack of affordable housing and the rise in evictions, please review the following website:

You will be provided with information that will allow your voice to be heard.  You will be able to virtually "attend" the meeting of the Richmond City Council to be held on Monday, April 27th at 5 p.m.

The site will also provide you with information to contact your City Council representative through emails and phone calls to alert them about the importance of this affordable housing lack and the rise in evictions. The site includes examples of letters/emails you can send and phone or voice mail messages you can leave prior to the meeting.
