St. E's Jazz Festival Evangelists! ~ by Tim Timmons ~ Photos made available by Tim Timmons
During the month of July in preparation for St. Elizabeth's Annual Jazz Festival, Tim Timmons, Tyshell Jones and Senon Davis of St. Elizabeth's worked alongside Ashe Friday of St. Paul's to canvass the surrounding area of the church to spread the great news about the up and coming event; as well as extend an invite to residents to come join them for Mass on Wednesdays and Sundays. The group was put together and counselled by Father Jim and Joe Kunkel.
Over a month span the four young men knocked on 1,650 doors, talked to 550 people, and gave out 850 Jazz Festival tickets. On top of passing out tickets, the group had 12 residents who were interested in being contacted by a member of the parish council in order to learn more about St. Elizabeth's; in which they had hopes of attending Mass in the near future.
The young men's effort throughout the month was very beneficial in the great success of the Jazz Festival and we look forward to continuing the evangelistic effort next summer.
