Greetings!!
Thank you to everyone who helped with Sr. Mary Mwangi's Anniversary celebrations last week. The Mass was beautiful and the reception was wonderful. A special thank you to those in the parish office and those on the planning committee for all of their hard work leading up to the celebration and on the day of. On the other page of the bulletin are some photos of the event. Thank you, Sr. Mary for your 30 years of service.
After Sunday Masses this I weekend, I am travelling to Michigan to celebrate my birthday with my family. I won't return until after next Sunday, so Msgr. Tom Miller will be visiting to celebrate Sunday Masses. As of right now we have not finalized a schedule for weekday Communion Services while I am away, but an email will be sent out if there is no Communion Service on a Wednesday or Friday that I am away.
Thank you for those who planned and are attending the celebration for my 35th Anniversary of Ordination.
Prayer for our country during this week leading up to Memorial Day.
Heavenly Father,
On this week leading up to Memorial Day, we ask for your peace in our country and the world around us. We think of the many around us who have fought for our country and want to thank You for protecting us. May we not only experience peace from war but may we experience peace among our people. Keep us from tearing each other down and sinning towards one another.
We ask that you help us as a nation to live selflessly and seek the good of others. May we strive for peace and stand together. Help us to live peaceably with one another. We ask for Your hand of blessing over our country, and for Your providence.
Help us not only to pursue earthly peace but the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding. May we know the Peace of Christ and may it rule in each of our hearts. Amen
Blessings to you and yours,
Fr. Jim

Greetings!!
Happy Mother's Day! Today is a very special day as we celebrate the blessings of all the mothers and women in our lives; but also Sr. Mary Mwangi. Sr. Mary was born in Kenya to parents, Martin and Jane Mwangi. She has three brothers and one sister. In 1989, she joined the religious life at St. Joseph of Tarbes, an international missionary congregation founded in the Diocese of Tarbes in France. She went through four years of formation, made her temporary vows on March 23rd, 1993 and took her perpetual vows on May 1st, 2000. Throughout her life, Sr. Mary Mwangi has worked in different ministries including education, leadership counseling, spiritual direction, and social outreach. Her passion is to live and to build communion in the Spirit of sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes. Today, Sr. Mary celebrates her 30th Anniversary of Religious Profession to the Sisterhood! Please join us in celebrating her during out Thanksgiving Mass this morning and at the reception in the Parish Hall.
At this point most college students have finished their academic year, but in a few weeks, our grade school will as well. If you or your child are graduating this year, please share your achievements with us so that they can be shared in the good news section of our bulletin in June. Any education levels, pre-k to graduate school, we want to celebrate you! Please email yours or your child's information to our Office Manager Eva Wiznerowicz (evabalkarli@stelizcc.org) and include some photos if you wish. Please submit all information before June 9th, for it to be included in the June 16th Bulletin.
Again, I wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the women in our lives!
"A society without mothers would be a dehumanized society, for mothers are always, even in the worst moments, witnesses of tenderness, dedication and moral strength... Dearest mothers, thank you for what you are in your family and for what you give to the Church and the world." - Pope Francis.
Easter Blessings to you and yours,
Fr. Jim, Pastor

Greetings!!
Today marks the first Sunday of May.. This is the month of Mary and in honor of her we crown our statues of Mary (inside by the front of the church and outside in our side garden). On this first Sunday of May, seventeen of our children are also receiving their First Holy Communion.
Congratulations to Thomas, Fadhili, Ashlay, Gus, Bishop, Gabriel, Jeanson, Ignacio, Aaron, Sela, Zelda, Anjolie, Arianne, Lesby, Emely, Emanuella Grace and Cynthia!
Thank you to all of their parents who have worked with them on formation at home as well as bringing them to class. Special Thanks to Liz Wiznerowicz and Denise Letendre for leading First Communion classes for all of these children. We have a "First Communion Closet" where children can use donated dresses, shoes, pants, ties, etc. for these special occasions. Thank you to Erin Cleary who organized and prepared the outfits from our closet as well as for being our photographer this Sunday! Lastly, thank you to Barbara Williford for supplying cake for the reception.
Easter Blessings to you and yours,
Fr. Jim, Pastor
