Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
October 29, 2023
FATHER JIM'S JOTS
Greetings!!
I will be leaving after Mass this Sunday to go out of town for the service for a family member who recently passed away. Because of this, Msgr. Walter Barrett and Msgr. Tom Miller will be celebrating the Masses on Wednesday and Friday this week. On November 1st, we will have Mass at 12 p.m. for All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation. This Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Walter Barrett. On Friday, November 3rd, we will have Mass at 12 p.m. with an hour of Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament to follow. This Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Tom Miller. We will hold Adoration every First Friday of the month. Click here for a guide to Adoration.
I would like to say a special thank you to everyone involved in the October Italian Dinner, but especially to Connie Hom, Dan Burns and Kevin Kitrick. Thank you as well to all of the youth who helped with the serving and cleanup! Everything was delicious and what a wonderful way to celebrate the history of this church!
Prayer for Peace in the Middle East
Sustain together in undiminished hope, O God of hope,
those who continue to labor with undiminished determination
to build peace in the land from which, of old,
out of brokenness, violence and destruction,
nevertheless, hope emerged for so many of faith.
Bless all the spiritual seed of Abraham together with the light of your
Presence.
For in the light of your Presence
we have found a way of justice and mercy
and a vision of Peace.
We praise you O God, Giver of Peace,
who commands us to Peace. Amen
